Who is responsible
Alessandro Bellini, sole trader (Atelier Bellini), 99 rue des Grands Champs, 75020 Paris. Contact: contact@atbellini.com.
What we collect, and why
If you write to us, we receive your email address and your message, and use them only to answer you. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering messages sent to us (GDPR article 6(1)(f)).
If you apply for the beta, we receive the answers on the waitlist form: your email address, your first name, your studio’s name if you give it, and your answers about how you work: the country you work in and where your photos come from, 3ds Max versions, renderers, studio size and your role (owner or employee), the kinds of images you make, the tools you would like to test, how many montages you delivered in twelve months, how you match the camera, your last job, availability, whether you make similar tools, how you heard of us and your language. Fields marked with an asterisk are needed to consider an application; the others are optional. So that we can prove your consent, we also record the boxes you ticked, the exact version of their wording, the date and time you sent and confirmed the form, and, when you confirm, your truncated IP address (the first three bytes of an IPv4 address, the first 48 bits of an IPv6 one).
We use this data to choose beta testers, to write to you about the beta and, if you ticked the second box, to send you at most six emails of launch news. Legal basis: your consent (article 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time through the link in every email or by writing to us; withdrawing does not undo what was done before.
We rank confirmed applications with a points scale (montages delivered recently, country, renderer, use, availability, the description of your last job), then Alessandro Bellini chooses the testers. No decision is taken by automated means alone.
To protect the form and our mail against abuse, our server counts submissions and clicks on our links per connection for one hour, and the emails sent to each address for one day (four at most). For this it keeps only a keyed hash — of the truncated IP address, or of the email address — never the address itself. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in protecting the service (article 6(1)(f)).
Who receives it
No one but us, and the processors that handle it on our behalf, under contract, only to provide this service:
- Cloudflare, Inc. (United States) runs the domain, forwards email sent to contact@atbellini.com to our mailbox, and runs the form’s server, api.atbellini.com, which also sends our emails (the confirmation, the reminder and, if you asked for it, launch news). The waitlist database is created in Cloudflare’s EU jurisdiction and kept in the European Union.
- Proton AG (Switzerland) holds our mailbox, where email sent to contact@atbellini.com arrives. Switzerland is recognised by the European Commission as offering adequate protection.
- Netlify, Inc. (United States) hosts the site’s pages and does not receive your answers.
- GoatCounter (Martin Tournoij, Ireland; servers in Finland and Germany) counts the site’s visits and does not receive your answers.
Cloudflare and Netlify are American companies: technical data (IP address, pages requested) and, at Cloudflare, your answers while they are processed and your email address while our emails are sent may leave the Union. These transfers rest on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where the company is certified, and otherwise on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses in its data-processing agreement. Nothing is sold or shared for advertising.
How long we keep it
- Unconfirmed application deleted 7 days after it was sent.
- Confirmed application, no seat deleted on 15 February 2027; if you asked for launch news, kept until 15 June 2027 (three months after the target launch date), unless you unsubscribe.
- Seated tester kept until 7 February 2028, twelve months after the beta ends.
- Consent withdrawn deleted at once.
- Abuse counters per connection: erased within three hours; per email address: within two days.
- Your emails for as long as it takes to answer, and at most three years after our last exchange.
The database keeps a technical restore copy for at most 30 days: deleted data leaves it in turn at the end of that time. We use it only to repair a failure, never to bring back a withdrawn application.
Your rights
You can ask to see your data, correct or delete it, restrict its use, object to the abuse counter, receive your answers in a machine-readable format, and withdraw your consent at any time. You can also leave instructions for what happens to your data after your death (article 85 of the French Data Protection Act). Write to contact@atbellini.com: we answer within a month. You can complain to the CNIL (cnil.fr, 3 place de Fontenoy, TSA 80715, 75334 Paris Cedex 07).
Cookies and analytics
The site sets no cookies and loads nothing from other sites. The form sends your answers to our server, api.atbellini.com, and nowhere else.
We count visits with GoatCounter, run by Martin Tournoij in Ireland on servers in Finland and Germany. Each page sends our own server, which passes it on, the address of the page, the page you came from, your browser, your screen width and your language; your country is read from your IP address, which is not kept. No cookie is set and nothing is stored in your browser. GoatCounter keeps totals only: not your IP address, not your full browser string, no identifier; it recognises a repeat visit for at most eight hours, in memory. We use the totals to see which pages and which of our links bring readers (our links carry a ref= tag). Legal basis: our legitimate interest in knowing how the site is read; you can refuse it by blocking the counter, which any content blocker does.
